JOB SUMMARY:
 

Manufacturing company seeking an experienced financial controller to undertake all aspects of financial management including, but not limited to, corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, development of internal control policies and procedures as well as financial risk management.

You will provide senior management with strategic financial input to effectively oversee the overall accounting processes and ensure accuracy of financial activities. To ensure success you will be required to give management sound advice, and manage accounting activities with the aim of visibly reducing costs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Overseeing all finance and accounting operations including Billing, AP/AR, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.

  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.

  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.

  • Support and oversee month-end and year-end closing process as well as reporting variances.

  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.

  • Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

  • Managing office staff including AP/AR & Human Resources.

  • Preparing and publishing financial statements.

  • Determining effect of potential business decisions on financial policies.

  • Collaborating as company representative with business partners.
     


QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
 

  • Proven work experience as a financial controller.

  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience including overseeing AP/AR, Payroll & Human Resources.

  • Degree in Accounting is preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures pertaining to manufacturing as well as retail / distribution.

  • In-depth knowledge using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Office and Excel including VBA & Macros, Sort & Filter, Linking Cells, Table & Formula Creation, Charts, Distribution Options and Analytics.

  • Proficient in QuickBooks.

  • Experience creating financial statements.

  • Experience with General Ledger functions and month-end/year-end process.

  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.

  • Ability to work as part of the management team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
     


SALARY & COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
 

  • Salary range for this position is $70k+/annually depending on experience. (DOE)

  • Total compensation package includes salary as well as opportunity to enroll in health / vision / dental insurance, voluntary life, supplementary insurance as well as disability and company retirement plan. Questions regarding total compensation package may be discussed during initial and/or follow-up interview.
